1. Can my child bring a snack to
school?
Yes, your child may bring a HEALTHY snack to school. I will give a
short break either in the morning or afternoon for snack. THIS IS
NOT A FREE TIME, just a time for some brain food and a "pick me up"2.
Can my child bring a water bottle to school?
Yes, your child may bring a water bottle to school with plain
WATER only. Please no flavored or carbonated water. Make
sure the water container is LEAK proof and will sit FLAT on a desk.
As long as the water is not a distraction for your child and/or other
students, it is not a problem.
3. Can I send in a special snack for
my child's BIRTHDAY?
Yes, you may. Please make it something easy that we can pass out
quickly. Do not send in a birthday cake that I need to cut, rather
send in cupcakes. Baked goods are ALWAYS welcome.
4. What if I need to change my child's
transportation home?
If you find you need to change your child's normal routine, please send
in a note with your child that contains all the appropriate information
along with a phone number where you can be reached. We will send
this note to the office for appropriate bus notes and pick ups. In case of an
emergency, please call the Intermediate Office, 643-6200 with any changes.
DO NOT EMAIL ME OR CALL MY EXTENSION FOR BUS OR PICK UP CHANGES. |
5. What happens if my child
forgets to
bring in homework?
Homework is VITAL to our 5th grade curriculum. It helps your child
PRACTICE what we have learned in class that day. Your
child is responsible for bringing in his/her homework
daily. Any missing work/homework will be written on your child's
homeward bound the week it is missing. They will have the weekend
to complete the missing work and hand it in on Monday. If the work
is not handed in, your child will NOT receive credit for that
assignment.
6. How can I schedule an appointment with my
child's teacher?
If you need to set up an appointment with me, please call me at 643-6277 and leave a message or email me tsardella@perucsd.org.
We can arrange a good time for both of us.
7. Can my child bring toys/electronics to school?
No. Please keep all toys/electronics at HOME. Toys and
electronics cause major distraction during learning time. Some
electronics are allowed on buses due to long bus rides. It is
REQUIRED that your child keep those electronics IN HIS/HER BACKPACK
during the school day. If I see something that is not allowed in
school I will confiscate it and keep it until I have a chance to speak
and/or see the parents OR it will go in my JUNE BOX and returned at the
end of the year.
8. Can I volunteer my time in the
classroom?
Any parents are welcome to volunteer time in my classroom. Please
let me know when you are available and when I find I need an extra
adult, I will contact you.
