Tips for School Success

1.  Encourage reading in any way you can using any kind of text.

2.  Treat your child as if he/she is an author!  Encourage writing any way you can!
3.  Try to point out the math involved with daily life!
4.  Teach your child how to listen.
5.  Reinforce the school's rules at home.
6.  Communicate with your child's teacher regularly!  Let them know about the smallest issues; they'll appreciate the knowledge!
7.  Make sure your child is organized for school each morning.
8.  Spend time in your child's classroom.
9.  Encourage responsibility and independence.
10.  Ask your child about their day at school.  Be proactive!
