Classroom Management Plan

Cards

All fifth grade classrooms have a card pull system.  Each child has a set of four cards posted on the wall.  A card is pulled when a rule is broken.

1st offense: If a student breaks a rule he/she (or the teacher) will pull a card.  This is merely a warning and there will be no other consequences at this time.

2nd offense:  If the child does not correct their behavior, OR if another rule is broken, then a second card is pulled.  The teacher will then meet with the child during his/her free time to discuss the behavior or rule and the teacher will re-teach the correct behavior or review the rule.

3rd offense:  If it is necessary for a student to pull three cards in one day they will be asked to fill out a Behavior Action Plan.  The Behavior Action Plan will be sent home and the parent will review it with their child, sign it and return it to school the next day.

4th offense: If all of the cards are pulled, the student will receive a Behavior Action Plan and the student will call home as soon as possible to speak with a parent or guardian.  The parent will review the action plan with their child, sign and return it the next day.  The student will also meet with the teacher during recess to discuss their behavior.  Any major classroom disruption will result in a deportment slip.

*(If the student does not return the action plan signed and completed the next day a call will be placed to the parents)
