Hi, my name is Kelly Crowley and I am the Reading Consultant at Peru Primary School. I have been working at Peru for four years. Prior to working at Peru, I taught for five years in a multi-age classroom in Vermont. I graduated from the University of Vermont Post Baccalaureate Teacher Preparation Program and received my Masters in Literacy in 2005 from Plattsburgh State University. It makes me very happy to be teaching at Peru Central School because I was lucky enough to attend Peru from kindergarten through my high school graduation. I believe in this school and I feel privileged to be a part of the staff. It is our mission at Peru Primary to catch students before they fall. We closely monitor the progress of every student on key, basic literacy skills and adjust our instruction to meet the needs of every learner. As a member of the Academic Intervention Services (AIS) team, it is my job to analyze data from the DIBELS, classroom and standardized assessments and classroom performance in order to identify students requiring additional support in reading. I see students in small groups in their classroom or mine to provide targeted support for their individual needs. Thank you for visiting my webpage. If you have questions regarding your child’s progress in reading, please feel free to contact me at kcrowley@perucsd.org or visit our reading webpage for suggestions, activities and recommended websites. "We learn by doing." Aristotle |
