Stars and Checks  are used to reward and remind students  to use appropriate behavior.  A small slip of paper is kept on their desk at all times. Students may take a star if they are on task, using appropriate behavior, or given a compliment.  Students take a check if their behavior is in appropriate as a visual reminder to change their behavior. Every check deletes a star.  If a student receives 3 checks they loose 5 minutes off of their recess. If their behavior does not change after loosing recess, parents will be contacted and a daily behavior plan put into place.

    Stars are traded for stickers and posted on a students bear/monthly cutout.  At the end of the month the 4 students with the highest number of stickers will have a chance to shop in my treat basket.
